Pool Weather!

I cannot begin to tell you how much we are enjoying our newly replastered and tiled pool. We were unable to use the pool most of last year because the plaster was flaking off and getting caught in the pump. By the time this spring rolled around it was looking pretty green. We were unable to run the pump most of the winter because we were afraid it would burn up with all the plaster getting clogged in it.

We got estimates this spring and decided on a company. The end result of what they did is amazing. They worked on the pool just 4 days over about an 8 day period of time. They had to scrape out the old plaster 4 inches into the pool and then put some sort of bonding material on. They added the beautiful new blue tile and then put down the new plaster. I was working while they did this and Barry sent me pics from his phone. I couldn't wait to get home and see it. What a difference!!

We started filling the pool last Wednesday at about 11:30 am and the pool wasn't full until Friday morning at 6:30. Anyone want to pay our water bill that cycle?? ha! Me neither! It will be worth it though. We don't have any vacations planned this summer...maybe not for the next 4 summers for what we spent on the pool. Throw in the adoption and we may never vacation again. :)

We had our first official pool party with our small group friends on Sunday evening. We had a blast!

Check out our pool!

You can see Barry's organic garden in the raised beds at the back of the yard.  We've already started getting some veggies out of it!!

Barry having fun!

We are so blessed with the most amazing friends.  Our small group is made up of other young professionals, many with children.  We look forward to Sunday all week because we get to spend time with some of our closest friends.  If your church has small groups and you've been considering joining one, I highly recommend it.  I feel more connected than ever to these people.  It's been the best thing for us.

I've got to head out to my garage sale.  Hopefully we won't get too hot.  94 degrees and a garage sale may not be the smartest thing I've ever done.  Enjoy your Saturday!

Oh, it looks GORGEOUS! I wish I could come over and swim. Our good friends just got a house with a pool - so we go over and use theirs when we have the time - all the fun, and none of the pain for us:). But, between you and me, your pool is WAY nicer:). Enjoy!!

Love the pool! Your pool is similar in size to ours and we've (me and Shelby) have been swimming for the past week since G has been gone. I just hired a pool guy to help me with the up keep while G is gone. Next summer, we will be retiling our pool because our tiles are coming off! I love the tile you went with!

Pool looks great!! How fun!

And, yes, we have been thinking about joining a new small group. Of the 5 couples in our old group, we are the only ones who haven't moved out of the state in the last 2 years. So either we need to move or join a new group!

Your pool looks fabulous!

I’m jealous!

I tried to convince my hubby we needed to get a pool…but he pointed out that we live in the Midwest where the pool would only be used 2 months out of the year. That is a good point...bummer!

Maybe I can persuade him to get a hot tub or Jacuzzi. ;-)

Anyway, have fun and enjoy the nice weather!

Gorgeous pool!!! What amazing weather, too! So fun!

Our church has home groups but we haven't gotten involved in them. I would want one with couples our age and it seems like they're older couples, which is fine, but for making friends etc, we prefer our age group, kwim? Some day. =)
