Blogiversary

Thanks to those of you who've checked in with me. I am alive. I appreciate your emails. I was in Michigan visiting my family and my mom does not have internet. I think she might just be one of the last 10 people on the planet without it. ha!

July 3rd was my 3rd anniversary of blogging. I wanted to write something, but without internet I just didn't get around to going and doing it. I was able to use my i*Phone to access some blogs, but that takes too much time and I was there to spend time with my family and friends and not blog. So I didn't. :)

I've been home just about a week now and have been pretty busy. I had a birthday last Friday. My sweet husband took the afternoon off so he could come home and get me and take me away for the day. We did some shopping and went to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. I love that place!! I had red velvet cheesecake for dinner....YUM!! It was delicious! Barry's family came to celebrate on Saturday. The kids spent most of the time in the pool. It's been hot, hot, hot here in Texas! I've been in the pool everyday since I've been home.

Saturday evening after everyone left, we went out to look for a new TV. Barry has been wanting one for a while and the sound finally went out on our old one. Well, the sound comes and goes. It's annoying. It's really not what I would consider old, just about 5 years old. But, it's not a flat screen...gasp! Apparently to a man that's a big deal. I could honestly get rid of all of our TVs and be a happy gal! I think I waste a too much time watching TV. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy it and definitely do watch some TV, but I also think I could do a lot better things with my time. Anyway...enough of that soapbox.

I was thinking 42" and he was thinking 47"...well apparently we were both wrong. They had a great deal on a 50" and that's what we are having delivered on Wed. Apparently it was such a great deal and the sale ended on Saturday that they were out of stock in their store. Barry wasn't happy about the wait, but he'll survive for sure. The new TV meant we needed a new TV stand. The one we had was mine before we got married and I loved it. It was an armoire and I liked that because I could close it up and not have to look at it all the time. It just won't fit a 50" though. Today we found a stand that I think is perfect and brought it home tonight. We also brought home a new dining room table.

The table has a great story. It was the display model and had two smallish scratches on the leg. It's a beautiful distressed farmhouse style table like I've been looking for FOREVER, but have just not wanted to spend the money on it. The table was marked down over 50% because of the scratches and I think they were moving in new inventory. It was marked down to $298, but I still didn't want to pay that. I'm adopting for crying out loud and my husband just spent way more than I wanted to on a new TV. I'm always looking for a deal! So I asked the salesman what kind of deal he could give me. He asked what I was thinking and I told him $200, thinking he'd come back with $250. Nope...he said, "OK, $200 it is, I don't want to haggle with you." WOW!! I was sooo excited! We got a table just like I've been wanting for a great deal!

Tomorrow I'll have my table. Can't wait to have our first meal using it. We are having friends over Saturday night so we'll use it then with everyone. It seats 10 with all the leaves and 6 without. The table we've had only seats 4...no leaves either.

I'm sorry this is a pretty boring post. I haven't even went through all my pics from the trip yet. My nephew is on the go constantly so he was hard to photograph. In this one we were playing hide and go seek. He hid behind the tree, but couldn't wait for me to find him. I did a quick action, but not sure I'm loving it. I am however LOVING him! I miss him so much already. He's a hilarious and super smart little guy.

Friday I called my sister so we could sing Happy Birthday to Cooper.  We share a birthday.  We sang to him and then he wanted to sing to me.  He did a great job.  Of course we've all been practicing with him for weeks.

I feel like I'm always saying this lately, but I'm off to catch up on your blogs.  I've been missing my blog friends!
