Finalization!

I realized today that I never blogged about our finalization!

Ellie's adoption was final July 27th.  It was a fabulous day.  If I'm being honest though, it wasn't nearly as wonderful as January 20th.  We weren't ever scared that it wouldn't be final.  We weren't ever worried that something would happen and we wouldn't be a family.  From the day she was placed in my arms, I knew she was ours.

We stood before the judge and promised to love Ellie and care for her.  We've loved her from the moment we knew about her so that was an easy promise.  We answered all the questions the judge asked us and then he pronounced her our legal daughter.  We were officially a family of three.  It was definitely one of the best moments of our life.  Ellie was her normal charming self and smiled right on cue.  It was perfect.

Here are a couple of pics of our special day.

Waiting to go in to the courtroom.

God's plan for our family was/is perfect.  This little person is more than I could have ever imagined.  Ellie is the best part of my day.  When I go into her room in the morning and she's standing in her crib waiting for me, just smiling, I immediately thank God for her.  When I lay her in that same crib at night and pray over her, I immediately get teary eyed.  God has blessed me more than I deserve.  She brings me more joy than I could have imagined.  I definitely don't take being her mommy lightly.  What I want most for her is for her to love God and do great things for His kingdom.  I pray for that daily.  I also pray that I am a role model for her and let my life be an example of the things I want most for her.

I am looking forward to all the years we have in front of us and to see where God will take us now.

Jennifer,

I'm sitting here in tears as I read your words. I feel just the same as you and do not take being a MOMMY lightly for one second. I too thank GOD everyday for the miracle that we call Lleyton :) So very happy that all is finalized.

Your baby girl is so perfect and so gorgeous! And I continue to be thankful that you and B are her parents :)

Just this weekend my dear friend and I spent the day together when I went home to visit my mom. She brought her daughter Addison, who always reminds me of Ellie, as both of them are true Gifts from GOD, sent to loving arms just days apart :)

BIG HUGS sweet friend!
