Here

Every night when I lay Ellie in her crib, I stop and pray over her. While I'm praying for her and her life, I also thank God for this amazing baby girl He gave us. The road to Ellie wasn't a quick or easy road, there were many bumps and even some roadblocks along the way. But, When I stand in her nearly dark room with the only sound that of her sound machine, and watch her sleeping I know it was the the perfect route for us.

Don't worry...she doesn't sleep with a blanket.
(This was during nap time when I was cleaning out her closet while she slept.
I had the fan on and just threw the blanket over her because she was in just a onesie
and I didn't want her to get too cold.)

Our girl will be six months old on Friday and these are the best 6 months of my life (Barry's too)! Ellie brings such joy to our lives. She is learning and growing at such a rapid pace, it is sometime hard to believe all the new things she learns and how quickly she changes. Her smile melts my heart. She is the best part of my day!

No, the road to this darling girl was not an easy one, but I wouldn't change one thing.

These lyrics by Rascal Flatts kind of sum it up for me...

"And I wouldn't change a thing
I'd walk right back through the rain
Back to every broken heart
On the day that it was breakin'
And I'd relive all the years
And be thankful for the tears
I've cried with every stumbled step
That led to you and got me here, right here"

Just some random pictures Barry took last night...
Had to have a drink out of mommy's water bottle

Enjoying some floaty time in the pool

She is so adorable! Where did you get that super cute pool float?! The one way have is still way too big for my 5 month old!

My goodness, she is gorgeous. I know exactly what you mean - all of the pain was worth it. I now see why we had to endure it.

I love that you had to explain the blanket - us moms are so sensitive to judgment aren't we:)? She looks so snuggly in there. I'm the same as you, though, no blankets in the crib 'til they are older. I did just introduce a lovey for Addison though - it's the only thing in her crib though.

Anyway, your little one is just precious!
