Easter Weekend

Wow...the weekend seems to have went by in a blink. Just wanted to give a quick update...nothing too exciting is going on right now. I've been away from the computer just about all weekend. Except to update face.book on my i.phone.

We spent the weekend with family and friends and it was wonderful! I had Friday off and spent the day finishing up my Spring cleaning and getting ready for guests. Barry's brother and his family came Saturday afternoon and stayed the night so we could all be together for Easter. It was so nice to get to hang out with them and just talk. We don't get to do enough of that. They have three kids and the kids keep them so busy. Sunday I got up early and got some stuff ready for Easter dinner. We went to church and our worship service was wonderful! It was so great having our family there with us to celebrate the real reason for Easter. Barry's parents arrived just in time for worship.

After church we went back to our house for a cookout. We opted not to do the traditional Easter dinner. The weather has been so beautiful and you can't go wrong with burgers on the grill. We had Barry's family and several of our friends who didn't have anywhere to go with us. It was just so very nice to spend time with our family and amazing friends. We are so blessed to have friends that are just like family to us.

After everyone left I was exhausted. I cleaned up the house and then took a nap. It was great! I don't get enough of those. Spring in Texas is not a good thing for this girl and her allergies. I tell ya...I have been miserable! I'm heading back to the doctor this afternoon because I'm pretty sure I have another sinus infection. I'm ready for Summer!! Of course not just because of my allergies. I'm ready for summer vacation. This has been a tough year for me at school. I'm ready to open our pool. I'm ready to spend some time just relaxing and getting some projects done.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Tell me what you did. I love to hear how other people celebrate holidays.

Sounds like a fun weekend, Jennifer!

We went to my (very Italian) in-laws house for Easter, and my parents came over, too. (We always celbrate holidays with both sets of parents at once since they only live 10 minutes apart). We had stuffed shells and garlic bread for Easter dinner. So I'm really hungry for some ham, lol!!! :)

What part of Texas are you in? My cousin lives in Round Rock...

Jennifer,

SO happy that you and Barry had a nice Easter with family :) I can understand your need to open your pool and take some time for "you", as this process wears on a person in so many ways. Be good to yourself sweet friend and know that you are never far from my thoughts.

As for us, we had a very low key weekend and enjoyed being together. My hubby enjoyed the down time, as he has been working many hours for months on end.

Sending you a SMILE :)

I am glad you had a good Easter! Sorry the allergies are getting to you though.
We went to Easter mass in the morning. Then off to the in-laws. Big breakfast and Easter Egg hunt for our two nieces. Then on to my family. More food and another Easter Egg hunt for my nieces and nephew.
It was such a beautiful day!!

So glad your weekend was so relaxing:). I get allergies in Arizona at this time, too...yuck!

We took the dogs for a hike in the mountains, then went to our friends' parents' house and ate! They also have three children, so it was a busy afternoon:).

It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. I love the idea of a cookout. I may adopt that for next year, if the weather cooperates.

What a wonderful weekend. I wish that I could have had all of my loved ones around me like you did. It is great that you had such a wonderful weekend to kick-start you into the new week.

I hear you about the Texas allergies. Are you a native Texan? I'm not, and the allergies here do me in year-round. Apparently the grass is what really gets me. I have heard that eating local honey and taking alf-alfa pills helps combat allergies.

As for our Easter, it was laid back. I dyed eggs 10 minutes before turning them into deviled eggs. lol It was a great weekend none the less. :)

Sounds like a lovely weekend! I'm jealous that your spring cleaning is done. :)
I like the idea of an Easter cookout. The weather in TX has been just right for grilling!

We were actually home this Easter without company. Can't remember the last time that has happened! We got lots done around the house and went to lunch with friends after church.

Hope you have a great week! The school year's almost done!!! My sister is a 2nd grade teacher and I think she said they have only 33 days left? Wow!

Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! Hope you are feeling better from your allergies and sinus infection.

We had a pretty low key weekend - John is near the end of his school term (he is in graduate school) so not much free time for him. I did some yard work and planted flowers on Saturday and Sunday we had a wonderful service at church.

Can't wait to hear more about your adoption plans!
