Road Trip

After we woke up yesterday, Barry suggested we take a road trip to Broken Bow, OK. Our small group is planning a camping trip to Beavers Bend Resort Park on Broken Bow Lake in May. Barry wanted to go scout out the area and show my mom around. We left a sunny warm day in Texas and headed north east. It started getting cloudy and the temperature dropped, but I must say once we got there it was worth it. It is an absolutely beautiful spot. We scouted out some camping sites right on the lake that will be great for our group! I am really looking forward to this trip.

We took Sam with us because he loves the lake. He heard us mention the lake and would not sit down the entire 2.5 hour ride there. After he had a chance to get in the water and play, he was a happy guy. He slept most of the trip home.

Here are some pictures of our adventure:

So peaceful

The view is so pretty.

We were getting ready to go so Sam had to get back on his leash.  He was not happy about that.

Unfortunately, it was cloudy so the pictures aren't that bright. I'm hoping to get some great pictures on our camping trip.  Also hoping it will be warm and sunny!

Did any of you do anything fun this weekend?  I'd love to hear about it!

Have a great week.

Great pictures Jennifer! Beautiful scenery, and it looks like everyone had fun!

We had a big family dinner last night, it was great to see everyone and spend time with family! :)

Jennifer,

That is what peace and serenity look like :) Can I come on your camping trip? You would laugh at the mere thought, as I'm a camp at the Ritz kind'a girl. Day trip would be my speed...LOL

How cute is your Mom??? She's adorable and I'm so happy that you got to share some time with her :)

Nothing much from here...we went to an NBA game last night and I have spent the weekend nursing hubby's aching back, as he threw it out playing golf. Yikes! He feels awful and is on a cane. On a funny note, he said "when are we dancing again?" Oh my, we were thinking in sync with eachother!

Hope that you and Barry have a great week and wishing your Mother safe travels.

Many Hugs
xoxo

Wow, looks gorgeous. My dogs would LOVE to go there! We're going to check out a lake here, too, when it gets nicer out. Unfortunately, we have to drive awhile because lakes aren't everywhere in AZ:). So glad you had a wonderful day!

Looks gorgeous! And your dog is a cutie! You lost me at "camping," though. I can't enjoy myself without toilets and showers. ;)

Sounds like fun! We have dogs, too, but we definitely can't trust them off the leash. They would run away. :-(

I am popping over from MckMama's site. I would love to swap stories. Feel free to stop by sometime. :-)

Blessings,
C.C.

That place looks beautiful, thanks for sharing. I've been craving the sight of water lately. The move from Seattle to a land-locked state is killing me....

Hubby and I drove over to Columbus and went to this cute German Village where they have the largest bookstore in the U.S. It was a nice afternoon getaway!

Lovely pics! So glad you have been enjoying time with your mom! Looks like it was a fun and relaxing weekend.

We spent a much-needed weekend at home! Saturday my hubby spent the day setting up our new TV in the living room (yay!) and Sunday his sister came over and we grilled for the first time this year. I love food from the grill! It was a beautiful weekend in Texas!

Beautiful!! I soooo want to go there!!!

We didn't do anything too special, just hung around home. Sometimes those are the best weekends, though. :)

Beautiful pictures! Looks like it is going to be a great camping trip. I love camping. We went camping with our small group when we still lived in Florida and had a blast. I really miss doing stuff like that, we haven't really gotten plugged in at church since we moved to DC. Hopefully we will be able to as my hubby moves in to his second year of school and his schedule eases up a bit.

Your dog is so cute!

Jennifer, we took a youth group trip there the summer before last--it was AMAZING!!! So, I took hubby back for our anniversary last year (2008) and we LOVED every second of it! Rented a cabin, roasted marshmallows, grilled out, hiked, he fished (I'm not a fan), I read like 3 books. No cell phones, not pagers, just quiet and it was soooo great! We must live fairly close to one another! Fun! Your group will have a great time there! Glad you got to take your mom too!
