Enjoying My Day Off

Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day so as a teacher, I have the day off. I'm not normally a late sleeper and even if I was, my dog would make sure I didn't sleep late. He was up at 7:00 this morning. I got up, let Sam out and made my coffee (decaf of course). Did I mention I gave up caffeine over the Christmas break? It was brutal at first, but now I don't have any headaches at all. Anyway...back to my morning... I started working on a few projects I have to do around the house, but got sidetracked by the computer. I still need to return some things to Target, clean my house and get to the grocery store. It's supposed to be 67 degrees today. I am LOVING that! I'm taking dinner to a friend later today and then have a Girls Night Out planned with some friends. We are going to dinner and then to see, Did You Hear About the Morgans? Has anyone seen it? I'll let you know what I think.
Not a very exciting day, but it's nice to have an extra day to get caught up on stuff. That meant I got to spend the weekend with my husband and not worry about all this other stuff.

Here's one of my favorite MLK jr quote.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

oh, I just love those extra days we get!!! Even though they're usually filled with errands and laundry, they're still so much fun, and well worth it!! I gave up caffine over break, too!!! I thought it was going to be hard, but I actually didn't even get any headaches!!! I've had an occasional decaf here and there as well, though ;) Enjoy your "monday" back at school!
